Our school, Woodland Elementary, is located in the scenic town of Dildo, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland which is approximately 100 kilometers from the capital city of St. John's. Our students come from the communities of Blaketown, Broad Cove, New Harbour, Old Shop, and South Dildo.

We are a K-6 school which offers a variety of extracurricular activities to our students because we believe in the education of the whole child. We are also dedicated to creating a safe, healthy and positive environment for teaching and learning for all of our children and staff.

Halloween Activities:

We will be celebrating Halloween on Friday, October 29th. Students are permitted to bring along ‘age appropriate’ costumes (no scary masks/costumes will be permitted, as we have students in our lower grades afraid of such costumes). Students will have regular classes in the morning and we will break for an early lunch (12:00) for that day. Students will put their costumes on during their lunch playtime, with the assistance of teachers, if needed. We will begin the afternoon with a parade of costumes and if weather permits will parade outside and have a ‘Halloween Freeze Dance’. If weather does not permit, the dance will be done in the individual classrooms. Students will need to bring along an extra snack for their Halloween lunch. Please remember, no treats are to be distributed by students.

School Food Guidelines:

School Food Guidelines (SFG) are used to increase awareness and access to healthy foods and drinks at school.

Please find the following link to be informed on the newly revised guidelines, as well as ideas to support healthy eating at home and at school.

Harbour Breeze:

Congratulations to Harrison Higdon, Grade 3, for winning a week’s free lunches from Harbour Breeze. If you order a lunch throughout the week, your child’s name gets put in for a ‘free week of lunches’ draw each Friday.
