WOODLAND ELEMENTARY
WELCOME MESSAGE
Our school, Woodland Elementary, is located in the scenic town of Dildo, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland which is approximately 100 kilometers from the capital city of St. John's. Our students come from the communities of Blaketown, Broad Cove, New Harbour, Old Shop, and South Dildo.
We are a K-6 school which offers a variety of extracurricular activities to our students because we believe in the education of the whole child. We are also dedicated to creating a safe, healthy and positive environment for teaching and learning for all of our children and staff.

The deadline to have tickets sold and money returned is now gone past. Thank you to all who have returned tickets/money. The quilt will be drawn for on June 20th.
PLEASE RETURN YOUR TICKETS/MONEY, IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY DONE SO!!
WE CURRENTLY HAVE A SMALL NUMBER OF TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR SALE. The first 12 people who contact the school for more tickets will receive a maximum of 5 tickets to sell. Tickets/money MUST be returned by Tuesday.
Mrs. Coombs grade one class is the winning class for a pizza party! They will have a pizza lunch on Tuesday!
Fun Day
Fun Day will be held on Monday, weather permitting. If it doesn’t go ahead on Monday it will be Tuesday. Our K-3 students will go to the Lion’s Club playground from 9:40 to 11:40 am and our elementary student will go from 12:30 to 2:25 pm. All students will be served hot dogs. Each child will have 2 hot dogs each and a drink. If your child does not like hot dogs please send along a packed lunch.
Please ensure you put sun screen on your child prior to coming to school on Monday and send along fly repellent, if necessary. They will also need a water bottle to bring with them.
-UV Dance
We are asking students to wear white/bright colors, if possible, on Tuesday as we are having a UV dance. The primary dance will be in the morning and the elementary will have theirs in the afternoon.
Year End Breakfast
Once again, this year our students will be treated to a special year end breakfast on Tuesday!
A tremendous thank you to ALL our breakfast volunteer workers!! We truly appreciate everything you do to make our breakfast program so wonderful😊.
Grade Six Farewell
Our grade six farewell is tonight! We would like to take this opportunity to wish each of our graduating students the very best as they enter the next chapter of their lives. Good luck!
Last Day of School
The last day of school is Thursday, June 20th. Students will be dismissed at 12:45 pm on this day. There will be NO lunch break but your child will need a recess on this day.
School will reopen on Wednesday, September 4th for a full day of regular classes.
We will, once again, have our closing assembly outside this year, weather permitting. It is a very informal gathering but parents are certainly welcome to drop by at 11 a.m.
Harbour Breeze:
The last day for Harbour Breeze will be on Friday, June 14th.
Students will need to bring along a packed recess and lunch for the last week of school.
